Five years back and whilst waiting for my visa to arrive, I turned the internet upside down to try to find information about where I was coming to. Perth seemed so far away from everywhere and isolated. I wondered if it would be as trendy as other capital cities I’ve visited and dreamt about living in or just a another country town that the most interesting thing would be the annual apple pie contest. Would I make new friends easily?, Would I struggle with the language?, How difficult would it be to find a job? were some of the questions in my mind at the time.
